EFFECTIVE MARCH 15, 2020: ALL PUBLIC SERVICES ARE CURRENTLY CANCELED.

This is no small undertaking, but we can see it’s benefit for the safety and well being of our church family and community.  The Elders have prayed, sought information from reliable sources, and consulted our own trusted, well-qualified medical professionals within our congregation.  This step seems the most prudent for our congregation and the community right now.

How long will this be in place?

Short answer: until further notice.

Longer answer: we’re hoping to resume as quickly as possible given the considerations above.  We will communicate updates with you along the way as well as protocols implemented for our own safety as a church body.

What do I do about the church in the meantime?

It’s important to remember that we are NOT canceling CHURCH!  We are the Church.  We are simply not gathering together in our Sanctuary briefly for the sake of public health safety.

Some important things to remember...

  1. God is in control.  (See, the Bible)
  2. We are God’s people.  We are OF THE FAITH.  Our study in Hebrews 11 reminds us that God has placed in us a genuine, substantive faith that compels us to worship, to walk with God, to believe and work, and to step out for Him.
  3. We are not afraid.  We have not been given a spirit of fear (2 Timothy 1:7) but of love and of a sound mind.
  4. We are the Church…still on mission.  The gates of Hell itself will not prevail against the church and its declaration that Christ is Lord (Matthew 16:18).  Reach out to one another.  Reach out to your neighbors and friends.  I saw a great quote this morning, “Wash hands, for sure.  Then, wash feet.” (Scott Sauls) I can’t wait to hear your story of how the Lord used Grace Covenant Church (that’s you!) in this time of community need.

Looking forward to gathering together again soon,

-Pastor Chad (on behalf of the Elders)
